Ryan won several events throughout the 2016 season, but none were as impressive as the sweep of 1st place finishes in the Conference 21B, Region 4A West, and VHSL 4A State Championship during the final weeks of the year.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Abigail was the number one Stone Bridge golfer the entire season. She shot an average score of 38.8 in our 9 hole matches this season and was Stone Bridge's Most Valuable Player. She was a four year member of the Stone Bridge golf team and improved her average scoring by approximately 10 strokes per season from her freshman to senior seasons. She is a fierce competitor and a student of the game. Abby has a scholarship to play golf next year at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Michael had an incredible freshman year for Tuscarora. He was the #1 player all year and was the low medalist in 11 out of the 13 matches he played in. Scoring average's were 72 - 18 and 37 - 9 holes. Posted lowest scores for the following tournaments ( South Riding open- 71, Two Conference Mini 14's North 5A - 69 and 72; 5A North Regionals was 71. Finished 5th overall in 5A States with a 70, 84 = 154. Team finished 4th place. Michael won the Tuscarora Team MVP award and was selected at October Viva Loudoun Athlete of the Month.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Ganley was a senior who received the coaches award this year. Garrett showed huge growth in his game over his four year career. Garrett became a team leader and he had the respect of all his teammates. He shot 69 on the final day at states to cap of his great high school career. Garrett showed the team how hard work in practice which paid off in tournaments.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Jack finished T-9 among individuals at the state tournament and was a medalist in his first tournament as a freshman. He was steady on the course and never let his emotions get in the way of playing showing he has great potential to be a fierce competitor in coming years for our team. Jack was a good push for the Riverside returning players as it made everyone work harder for their starting spots.

2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Every golf coach wants their team and players to peak at the right time. Quinn was able to do that this year. He played his best golf on the biggest stage and got hot at the right time. He played #4 man for Dominion all year and was one of their team captains. Here are a few highlighted items from the year: 83 (+12) in the Conference 21 East Tournament-Advanced to 4A Regional Tournament via playoff; 73 (+1) in the Region 4A West Tournament-Advanced to 4A State Touranment via playoff. Quinn shot his career best round by 4 shots in the biggest tournament of his life. The odds of that alone are miniscule - 84 (+13) on Day #1 of 4A State Tournament at Stonehouse GC in Toano, VA; 77 (+6) on Day #2 of 4A State Tournament at Stonehouse GC in Toano, VA to tie for 19th/36 golfers.
Ryan Monastero, Loudoun County
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Ryan finished third in conference qualifying with a score of 75, third in regional qualifying with a score of 72 and 15 in the state championship. He also finished fourth in the Atomic Invitational 76,70. Ryan is a tireless worker who fought through significant in season swing changes to finish his year extremely strong. His best golf is still ahead of him. He will be a great leader for Loudoun County's golf team next season.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Chad, as a senior this year, set the individual 9-hole record (33) and tied the 18-hole record for Riverside (72) this year. He really dug into course management, and knowing and understanding his own game to improve his performance. His bounce back on the second day of states to fire a 72 after an 87 on the first day showcased his growth in maturity and mental grit he's been working on since joining the RHS team.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Senior captain for Heritage Golf. Had one of the best single seasons in Heritage High history. Newman was the George Pavilis winner as well as the LCPS Champion. He was both an all region and all state medalist. Eli was the heartbeat of a golf team that placed 2nd at the VHSL Group 4A State Championship and players looked to him to preform in every tournament. Eli was a great representative of Heritage golf on and off the course.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Ashley Nguyen had a great senior year. As a 2nd year captain, she was a great leader to her teammates. She helped her team qualify for the region tournament this year. S he won the team MVP for a 2nd time, and qualified for the 4th time for the Girls State Open tournament.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Rentsch overcame an injury from last year and responded with a great season. Placed 2nd at the Conference 21B Championship and was solid a player all year in helping lead his team to a 2nd place finish in the VHSL Group 4A Golf State Championship. Heritage will look to him next year as a captain.
2016 All-Loudoun Golf Team Skylar demonstrated on a weekly basis that she wanted everyone on the team to succeed. During practices, Skylar would work on her own game, as well as offer suggestions to teammates on how they could improve. Her leadership as a team captain this past fall helped her excel in her roll on the golf team. Skylar went on to shoot multiple even par rounds throughout the course of her junior year, including a 2nd place 72 in regionals to propel her to the VHSL State Championships in Chantilly, VA. After a shaky first day, Skylar showed a determination to battle back and conquer the holes that had bested her the day before to improve on her first day score.
