Riverside High School is ready to prove the power of pink with a “Power Up Pink” themed fundraiser for the Loudoun Breast Health Network

Community invited to show support at the Riverside VS. Stone Bridge football game on Friday, October 11th, 2019

Leesburg, VA – October is nationally known as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Riverside High School DECA students are holding their annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign to spread awareness among the students and the community. Starting on Monday, October 7th, 2019, our chapter will be holding several events leading up to the grand finale of the week-long campaign. On Friday, October 11th, 2019, the Riverside Rams will be hosting the Stone Bridge Bulldogs for a football game at 7pm. The community is invited and encouraged to come out for a great game to help support a great cause.

“Power Up Pink” is inspired by previous successful Breast Cancer Awareness events including “Friday Night Fight”, “The Hunt For Pink October”, and “Pink Is Stronger Than You Think.” Supporters of this year’s campaign will wear the newly designed “Power Up Pink” pink t-shirts to “prove the power of pink.” These t-shirts will be sold online for pre-order, throughout the week before school at Riverside High School, during lunch shifts at Riverside High School and Belmont Ridge Middle School, and finally at the game. The t-shirts are $10.00. “Take A Chance” drawing tickets, baked goods, and other pink merchandise will be available for sale with all proceeds and donations going to the Loudoun Breast Health Network. Last year, this campaign raised over $18,000, and this year the students need the community’s support to reach our goal of $20,000.

During the week leading up to the Friday night football game, several events will be held to raise Breast Cancer Awareness. On Thursday, October 10th, 2019 at 7pm, our annual Powderpuff game will be held against junior and senior girls from Riverside High School. Admission is $5 and students’ grades K-5 get in free with a parent. We need the community to spread the word about these events and more importantly attend them to show your support.

When: Friday, October 11th, 7:00 P.M, gate opens at 6:00 P.M.
